Convert MSG to PDF Free – Without Uploading the Email
Need an Outlook email as a PDF for records, a client file or a court bundle? Open the .msg file below and save it as a PDF. The PDF starts with the email header, so the sender, recipients and date are part of the document.
How to convert
- Open the .msg file above.
- Click Save as PDF.
- In the print window, set the destination to Save as PDF:
- Chrome / Edge: Destination › Save as PDF › Save
- Safari (Mac): the PDF menu at the bottom left › Save as PDF
- Firefox: Destination › Save to PDF
- Name the file and save. The browser suggests the email subject as the name.
What ends up in the PDF
| Part of the email | In the PDF? |
|---|---|
| Subject, From, To, Cc, Date | Yes, as a header block |
| Message body with formatting | Yes |
| Pictures inside the message | Yes |
| Pictures loaded from the internet | Only if you clicked Load images first |
| List of attachment names | Yes, in the header |
| The attachments themselves | No — download them with the Download buttons |
Tips for a clean PDF
- Turn off "Headers and footers" in the print options if you don't want the browser's date and page address on every page.
- Wide newsletters can be squeezed onto the page with the print Scale option.
- For an email inside an email, click Open first, then Save as PDF.
