About Email File Viewer

Email File Viewer is a small independent site run by Tam Vu. It does one job: opening email files you cannot open on your device (Outlook .msg, .eml and winmail.dat), reading them, saving the attachments and turning them into PDFs, without uploading the file anywhere.

How the viewer works

• The page reads the file inside your browser using open-source readers for Outlook .msg, .eml and TNEF (winmail.dat), following the formats Microsoft and the IETF publish.
• Every release is checked against a set of real sample files (Outlook messages with attachments and embedded emails, winmail.dat files, .eml files in different character sets) before it goes live.
• The email is displayed in a locked-down frame: scripts inside it never run and remote pictures stay blocked unless you allow them.

Corrections and bug reports

If a file doesn't open or shows something wrong, tell us through the contact page. Please describe the problem; don't send the email itself if it is private.
